The Bayelsa State House of Assembly has unanimously approved the State Government 2019/2021 Medium Term Expenditure Framework and Fiscal Strategy Paper(FSP).
The approval is sequel to a request for approval by the Governor of the State, Hon. Seriake Dickson.
Moving a motion for the approval Leader of the House, Hon. Peter Akpe said that the approval of the MTEF document sought by the Governor, is in accordance with the existing Fiscal Responsibilty Law of 2009, which will effectively take care of such parameters of income inflow, expenditure and inflation for the next three years.
Also speaking, Hon. Monday-Bubou Obolo called on the State Government to improve the Internally Generated Revenue Profile of the State.
Hon. Baraladei Igali, member representing Southern Ijaw constituency 3 in his contribution, expressed concern about the level of sectorial performances in budget implementation to avoid budget deficit.
Also in plenary the House gave approval to the governor’s request for additional forty Special Advisers, bringing the number to one hundred.
